What makes this coffee unique
What makes this coffee unique
Our distinctive Legendary Blend combines the finest beans from Cobán and Acatenango Valley, two of Guatemala's most celebrated coffee regions. Each region contributes its own unique qualities to create a coffee that is both vibrant and complex.
We source beans from the misty highlands of Cobán, known for its fertile volcanic soil and cool, consistent climate. These offer a bright, crisp acidity, beautifully balanced by the beans from Acatenango Valley, where the rich volcanic soil and abundant sunshine imbue the coffee with a rich body and nuanced fruitiness.
The crisp, refreshing green apple harmonizes perfectly with the delicate floral essence of coffee blossom. The finish reveals the rich sweetness of ripe plum, adding depth and a lingering, fruit-forward complexity to the cup.
This blend showcases the best of these two outstanding regions, offering a coffee that is well-rounded and rich in character. Ideal for those who appreciate a nuanced cup with layers of flavor, our Legendary Blend invites you on a sensory journey through two of Guatemala's finest coffee-growing regions.
How we recommend to brew it
How we recommend to brew it
Our Legendary Blend, with its vibrant fruit notes, can be enjoyed as a drip coffee, brewed using a Chemex, or prepared as cold brew. These methods enhance the coffee's natural sweetness and juicy flavors, offering a clean and refreshing cup.
To fully enjoy this coffee's complexity, make sure your coffee is fresh. The ideal window for most coffees is 10-25 days from the roast date. For this particular washed coffee, aim for 12-18 days post-roast. We ensure your coffee arrives within days of roasting for optimal flavor.
Adjust your grind size to match your chosen method. For more specifics, refer to our coffee grinding guide.
Use fresh, filtered water heated to 195°F-205°F. For Cold Brew, room-temperature water and an 18-24 hour brew do the trick, but ensure your water is filtered to avoid any off-flavors.
Pro Tips:
- Chemex: To bring out the bright fruit notes, use a 16:1 water-to-coffee ratio (e.g., 40 grams of coffee to 640 grams of water). The Chemex's thick filter paper accentuates the coffee's clarity and sweetness, allowing the fruit notes to shine.
- Cold Brew: For a smooth and fruity cold brew, steep your coarse-ground coffee in cold water for 12-24 hours using a 1:8 coffee-to-water ratio (e.g., 100 grams of coffee to 800 grams of water). This slow extraction process enhances the juicy, sweet flavors.
Relax and enjoy the refreshing, fruit-forward, nuanced flavor that our Legendary Blend has to offer, whether hot or cold.
