How we recommend to brew it

Our Washed Medium Roast coffee delivers a balanced and nuanced cup with a hint of natural sweetness. For the best experience, brew it using a French press, pour-over, or drip method.

To capture this coffee's full sweetness and complexity, ensure it is fresh. The ideal window for most coffees is 10-25 days from the roast date, and we typically ship your coffee within a few days of roasting.

Choose the correct grind size for your brewing method. Our coffee grinding guide provides detailed recommendations.

Use fresh, filtered water heated to 195°F-205°F. Water that's too hot can cause bitterness, while cooler water may leave the full flavors under-extracted. To highlight the coffee's natural sweetness, we suggest aiming for 198-200°F.

Pro Tips:

  • Magnesium-rich water can enhance the coffee's sweetness and bring out its more subtle flavors. For more detailed guidance, refer to Scott Rao's water guide.
  • Weigh your coffee and water carefully. To enhance sweetness, use a slightly higher water-to-coffee ratio, such as 16:1 to 17:1 (e.g., 20 grams of coffee to 320 to 340 grams of water). This ratio helps highlight the medium roast's sweet and balanced notes.
